Upper Harbour School, Albany, Auckland
Opened in February 2006 Upper Harbour school reflects the deep thinking that has gone into its design, from classroom pods, 'awhina' or shared spaces and a new library.
The library's main feature is a pod of iMacs, which forms an ICT core. Around this are the face-out collections (including mobile shelving for sophisticated picture books), attractive furniture and cushions, prominent signage, and on the walls, student artwork.
