Metadata Standards Framework

Standards for online information are continually evolving, so the Library will monitor international developments and modify the framework as appropriate.

Metadata Standards Framework documents

The framework consists of three documents:

• Resource discovery framework
  
• Preservation metadata schema
  
• Preservation metadata data model

The preservation metadata data model is based on the logical preservation metadata model, and is a step towards implementing a preservation metadata repository.

XML Schemas for the preservation metadata data model are available:

• Data types used in the schema definitions
  
• Entity one
  
• Entity three
