Fishing Industry
New Zealand has one of the largest fishing zones in the world and supports an important fishing industry. The 1983 Fisheries Act established the fishing quota system which as been a controversial but important aspect in controlling fish harvest in New Zealand.
This cartoon, by Malcolm Walker, illustrates this controversy that exists within the fishing industry.
