This aquatint by James Cleveley is in the original frame commissioned by Alexander Turnbull. Unfortunately the image was mislabelled – the tropical palms and white sandy beaches of Matavai Bay, Tahiti, contradict the gold lettered suggestion that this is Queen Charlotte Sound.
