'Wawn's Wonder Wool'
The influenza pandemic left 8,600 dead (almost half the number of New Zealanders killed during the war).
'Wawn's wonder-wool' was one of many advertisements that appeared in the press during the pandemic. As with many other products, it claimed to alleviate the effects of influenza, and would even assist in the healing process of the patient.
