Nicola the Great – world’s master magician
The American magician Nicola the Great (William Mozart Nicol, 1880-1946), toured the world from 1910 to 1939, when all his show equipment was lost in a Singapore shipwreck. This poster advertises a performance at the Grand Opera House in Wellington in 1938.
This poster entered the Turnbull Library’s collections in 1978, when Mrs Beatrice Cabot donated her late husband’s theatre collection to the Alexander Turnbull Library. The collection is now held in the Turnbull Library's Printed Ephemera Collection.
