The New Zealand Music, Sound, Audio-visual collection forms part of the Alexander Turnbull Library collections. It holds a comprehensive range of New Zealand sound recordings.

Music, sound and audio-visual items include:

  • printed music scores and sheet music
  • sound recordings on CD, cassette and vinyl
  • videos and DVDs
  • computer files.

We add about 5,000 items to the collection each year, through legal deposit, purchase and donation.
