Library of Congress Catalog
Library of Congress (LC) has a broad scope, including research materials in more than 450 languages. Items catalogued include books, journals, government documents, microforms, computer files, sound and video recordings, prints, drawings, photographs, films, manuscripts, braille books and music, and other formats.
While virtually all subject areas are represented in the collections, LC does not attempt to collect comprehensively in the areas of clinical medicine and technical agriculture.

Melvyl - the Catalog of the University of California (UC)
Melvyl contains records for material held by the libraries of the 10 campuses of the UC system. Material from selected University partners is also represented, including Hastings School of Law, the Center for Research Libraries, Lawrence Berkeley Lab, the California Academy of Sciences Library, the California Historical Society Library, the Graduate Theological Library, and the California State Library.
Melvyl is the second largest database of bibliographic records (after OCLC). It contains entries for materials in many formats, including manuscripts, maps, visual media, microforms and government documents. Predefined subsets of the catalogue have been created to allow dedicated searching for online resources, musical scores, and sound recordings.
National Agricultural Library (NAL)
The Unites States NAL is one of the world's largest agricultural research libraries.
National Bibliographic Archive (NBA)
The NBA is useful for retrospective cataloguing.
National Bibliographic Database (NBD)
The NBD contains bibliographic records with holdings; this information forms New Zealand's National Union Catalogue. It also contains some recent bibliographic records without holdings from the Library of Congress, the British National Bibliography (BNB) and National Library of Australia (Australian National Bibliographic Database). It also contains Library of Congress Subject Headings and Name Authorities.
National Library of Medicine
National Library of Medicine is the world's largest medical library and the creator of medline/pubmed. The Library has the widest collection of health related bibliographic records and subject headings and authority records.
