Bag check

The Library has a no-bags policy. We operate a secure bag check facility at the Visitor Centre on the ground floor, where your belongings will be looked after while you use the Library or visit the Gallery.

Plastic bags are provided so you can take personal material into the collection areas.

Internet access

We provide computers with broadband internet access to help visitors conduct their research.

Visitors can also check email on the computers in the foyer on the ground floor. There is no charge for this.

Free wireless (WiFi) internet access is also available throughout the National Library building, through FreeNet Aotearoa. FreeNet is a system of sharing unused broadband with others in your neighbourhood, providing open wireless access to everyone.

To connect to FreeNet, click on Start, Settings, Network connections, and the FreeNet connection will show up. You do not need a password.

Find out more information on the FreeNet Aotearoa website.

Photocopying

Photocopiers are available on the ground floor and in the Music Room for copying from General Collection items. Photocopies from Turnbull Library materials are made by staff. High-quality prints and digital images of collection items are also available.
