At Archives New Zealand you can access heritage materials from the collections of the Alexander Turnbull Library, along with the National Library’s Dorothy Neal White collection.
Collections available at Archives New Zealand
The Dorothy Neal White Collection contains children’s books published before 1940. Books are mostly from New Zealand, Australia, Britain and the United States.
The Manuscripts Collection is New Zealand’s major collection of non-government manuscripts.
The Special Printed Collections contain about 20,000 rare books and other printed items dating from 1471 onwards.
The Client-Held Collection is made up of items requested by researchers that can be safely stored and accessed during the redevelopment.

The Photographic Archive holds images of New Zealand and the Pacific from the 1850s to the present.
The Oral History Centre collection contains oral history interviews and other unpublished recordings.
Services available at Archives New Zealand
Archives New Zealand will be home to some Turnbull Library curatorial and research services staff, who will provide services from Archives New Zealand’s reading rooms. You will also have access to digital collections and finding aids.
