The National Library Gallery closed in April 2009 in preparation for the major redevelopment of the Molesworth Street building. Our staff, collections and services are being relocated during 2009, and will operate from temporary locations until the end of 2011.
There will be no exhibitions programme while we are out of the building.
The new National Library building will provide greater access and improved services for customers and researchers, a better working environment for staff, and improved capacity and storage conditions for collections.
The new building will also have additional exhibition space to showcase the extensive collections of the Alexander Turnbull Library and the National Library.
