Services to Māori and Hononga Māori have the following roles:

• providing advice to the Library on developing and furthering effective partnerships with iwi and Māori through 'Te Kaupapa Mahi Tahi – A Plan For Partnership 2005-2010'
• assisting to connect Māori, and New Zealanders, with information important to all aspects of their lives through facilitated access to mātauranga Māori (Māori knowledge) and resources of interest 
• providing advice and guidance on the products and services of the Library
• producing Te Waipuna, our biannual newsletter.
