The National Preservation Office Te Tari Tohu Taonga (NPO) assists institutions and community groups throughout New Zealand with preserving documentary heritage of interest to all New Zealanders.
The The National Preservation Office's work
NPO staff carry out visits to different regions in New Zealand to offer advice, carry out assessments and meet with those responsible for caring for cultural heritage. The NPO organises training opportunities in the form of workshops and seminars. Some workshops are specifically for Māori groups.
More about NPO training opportunities
The NPO also publishes brochures with information about protecting and caring for your precious items and collections. This information is available online.
