Jean Wright Award applications open

Miss Jean Wright, a former librarian, left part of her estate to be established as a grant for the furthering of the library education. Miss Wright had a lifelong commitment to library services in rural communities. The Jean Wright Award was established to further the education and training of librarians in small public libraries.

The National Library is encouraging those eligible to apply for the $10,000 grant.

The closing date for applications is 13 November 2009.
