- Māori word for highly prized possessions or holdings.
- Te Ao Māori
- A Māori world view. Literally 'the Māori world'.
- Te Puna
- Te Puna is the brand name for the electronic resources and services made available through the National Library. These are a mixture of free and charged electronic resources and services.
- Te Puna National Bibliographic Database
- A database that lets you search millions of titles of books, serials, magazines, CDs, and so on that are held in library collections around New Zealand and the world. Only available through your local library.
- Te Puna Subscriber Services
- Gateway to a range of services provided by the Library to subscribers from other libraries and information organisations, for example cataloguing tools and access to databases.
- Te Waipuna
- Twice-yearly publication by the National Library's Services to Māori directorate.
- Thumbnail
- Small version of a graphic image, usually in place of a larger copy. Thumbnails allow web pages to download more quickly.
- Trade bindings
- Bookbinding done by qualified binders in commercial firms, or craftsmen. Any book pre-19th century that was not bound before sale instead of to the taste of the purchaser.
- Trans Tasman Interlending
- Web gateway for libraries that are members of Te Puna Interloan or Libraries of Australia Document Delivery. The gateway enables the libraries in New Zealand and Australia to request and supply books, articles and other items to each other.
- Transparencies
- Photographs or images produced on transparent material such as plastic instead of material you can't see through like paper.
- Turn-ins
- A term in bookbinding. The extra length and width of the covering material of a book overlapping the head, tail, and fore-edge of the cover, turned over the edges of the board and glued to the inside surface.
